The article, “Emergency reform: It’s time for change in our healthcare system,” appeared February 22, 2018. Yasami asserts that payers and providers “should strive to find ways to reduce ER costs that don’t put patients in danger—or in debt.”
He then provides examples of healthcare insurers that are taking alternative paths to decrease ER claims by using technology to identify critical care gaps for high-risk members—and connect them to more frequent primary care and preventative services.
